“Utter Domination” Is Defined As VT v. BC or NYG v. OAK Raiders

This weekend was crazy if you, like me, rooted for the VT Hokies and NY Giants.

Anti-climatic if you will… with both teams winning the game after the first quarter.

Here are some brief observations from this past weekend -

1. Tyrod Taylor is rolling… maybe Steinspring really isn’t that bad of an OC

2. The Hokies have RB depth that reminds me of USC. Ryan Williams is running himself into Heisman talk and David Wilson is showing why he is getting playing time as a true freshman. Forget Darren Evans, lets talk Williams & Wilson… the W & W boys.

3. Alabama is #2 in the country. Imagine if VT beat the Tide in Week 1… dammit!

4. Number of innings watched of the baseball playoffs – 5. I was never pumped for Rocktober and Ubaldo “Mancrush 2009″ Jiminez could not beat the Phillies.

5. To rival Chris Berman’s “Rooting for Brett Favre is like rooting for America,” I stated, “Watching Peyton Manning run the Colts offense is like watching Van Gogh paint a portrait.” My comment was 80% motivated because I have him on my fantasy team, but upon reflection, yes… I would marry Peyton and have his baby if he asked. Mancrush is on “Swimfan” levels. I might start stalking him after a few more 300 yards/3 TD games.

6. Sticking with Peyton, can we call 2008 an outlier instead of “he’s past his prime”? So many “fantasy experts” dubbed Peyton as no longer being elite. Thank god I didn’t listen to them.

7. Maybe Willis McGahee really isn’t that valuable. He had 2 carries on Sunday. I’ve been pissed all season for drafting him and then dropping him because nobody thought he’d be any good. McGahee started off the season hot, but the past couple of weeks have been poor.

8. If you started both Miles Austin and Roddy White, and still lost your game you have to tip your cap to the other team, or scream “HAX” cause I just can’t see how you’d lose if you had both of those guys in the starting lineup.

Looking ahead -

1. Eli Manning starts for my fantasy team this week. Big bro Peyton has a bye, so little bro gets the nod. Here’s to Eli “Manning up” in place of his big bro for me.

2. Sticking with my fantasy team one more time – Ladainian Tomlinson will start against the Denver Broncos. Not a favorable matchup coming out of the bye, but I’m starting him.

3. College teams I’m rooting for this week – VT (duh), South Carolina, Oklahoma, USC (ND just isn’t the same without Samardzija)

4. Another week for me of not paying attention to the MLB playoffs. Baseball season should just end today. The Mets really ruined baseball in 2009 for me.

5. Razzball is just a great blog. Read it.
